The Prince of Eastern province sponsors the general assembly of the Patients Friends Committee in the Asharqia Chamber
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Prince of the Eastern Province and Honorary Chairman of the Patients Friends Committee in the region praised the importance of the good services provided by the Committee during the last period that contributed to supporting needy patients and had a profound impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
His Highness added, during his patronage of the committee’s general assembly meeting, at the Chamber’s headquarters on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, “The integration between the relevant sectors achieves the desired goal and contributes to achieving goals and aspirations in a controlled and organized manner according to plans and strategies that guarantee the continuity of giving.
The committee announced that the total contribution of the Patients Friends Committee in the Eastern Province during the three years (2019, 2020, and 2021) amounted to 18 million riyals, provided as support to provide medical needs and supplies to several hospitals and health centers in the Eastern Province, most notably: Dammam Medical Complex, Mental Health Department, Children and Maternity Hospital in Dammam, King Fahd Specialist Hospital, Qatif Central Hospital, Dhahran General Hospital, King Fahd University Hospital, and Urayrah General Hospital.
Leadership and Excellence
During the meeting, which was attended by a large number of businessmen and women, and several government officials, especially those working in the health sector, the Director of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Karim Al-Arefi, confirmed that the committee, since its establishment for more than three decades ago, was It is still a model of leadership and excellence, and it has spread the spirit of volunteerism and promoted charitable work, charity and "community participation" in the eastern region and the Kingdom, especially in the field of serving patients in need and beneficiaries of health services.
Al-Arifi noted that the activities and events of the committee have grown with the contribution and support of venerable businessmen, as they reflect year after year the extent to which charitable and humanitarian work is rooted in the eastern region, as well as the high level of awareness of the importance of participation and cooperation in presenting charitable works of their importance in public affairs.
A leading humanitarian platform
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, said that the Patients’ Friends Committee has become today a feature of the eastern region, and a shining sign throughout it. The Committee is making great strides in the path of institutional charitable work, as it has focused its efforts on upholding the values of compassion and solidarity, and has provided aid and assistance to needy patients, by inspecting their conditions and relieving their pain by providing the region’s hospitals with equipment and medical equipment for the crisis. Specialized humanitarian work is a feature of the “Friends Committee” Patients”, which is witnessing a wide development and growth until it now imposes itself as a “leading humanitarian platform” in charitable work.
In the same context, the Secretary of the Committee, Abdul Rahman Al-Humayn said, “All the successes achieved by the Committee of Friends of the Patients came with the grace of God and his payment, and then with the continuous official support, starting with the country’s leadership, which was embodied in the decision of the Council of Ministers to launch the committee, formally rooting it, and approving it at the country level in general. This support culminated in the committee being officially linked to the General Directorate of Health Affairs in each region, and this is clear official support that ensures the sustainability of the committees of friends of patients and the continuation of giving.
Al-Humain renewed his sincere thanks for the unlimited support provided by the Emirate of the Eastern Region to the Committee and its activities, as the Committee was honored by the honorary chaired by His Highness, the Governor of the Eastern Province, and His Highness, His Highness, may God preserve them. By them, the Committee continued its work, and every year we find the initiatives undertaken by the Committee, based on the bids and proposals of the members of the Committee and its contributors.
During the ceremony, the most prominent achievements of the committee were reviewed, and the supporters of the committee were honored.
